My Brain Works Differently is an empowering, practical and engaging guide for neurodivergent tweens and teens, helping them understand their brains, celebrate their unique strengths and discover strategies to make everyday life easier.
Written in a warm, relatable style, by best-selling Australian author and educator, Sharon Witt, the book explores topics including dopamine, executive functioning, emotions, friendships, sensory differences, motivation and self-advocacy through accessible information, real-life examples, activities and practical takeaways. Taking a neuro-affirming approach, it encourages young people to understand and embrace their differences rather than trying to change them, building confidence, self-understanding and the skills to navigate school, home and relationships. Filled with encouragement, humour and hope, My Brain Works Differently reminds young people that every brain works differently, and understanding your own can help you thrive.
