Help for parents of teenagers

HELP FOR PARENTS OF TEENAGERS   DJ2: We now talk about, the most, well, just say the mostFerrell people in the world, our teenagers. DJ1: No, don’t say that. Why would you say that? DJ2: No, because I’ve been a teenager, and maybe I’m just speaking for myself. DJ1: You were ferrell. Not everyone was lucky and had criminal convictions. DJ2: No, but not necessarily ferrell in that way. But ferrell is hard to understand sometimes. We got an educator and teen expert Sharon Witt, author of “Teen Talk, Parent Talk”, here to have a chat to us this morning. DJ1: Lovely Sharon. DJ2: Regularly seen on Kerri-anne. DJ1: Yes. Tell Luke, that not all teenagers are ferrell. SHARON WITT: Good morning guys. Oh what a bad rap for teenagers Luke. DJ2: Tell me I’m not right in some way. SHARON WITT: All my beautiful teenagers listening right now,…

KEN: Well, thank you for coming in because this topic has go, has blew us away, that Australia was the worst country in the world for cyber bullying on social networks. SHARON WITT: Yeah, this really, it really upsets me, but it’s also something I deal with constantly. Probably one of the biggest things as an educator, as a parenting expert, this is one of the things that comes up so much. Because, our kids, even though they are digitally natives and they are part of this community that, you know. The digital world…

Kerri-Anne Show: Spoilt Kids

Spoilt Kids K: I guess when it comes to living in the real world; a lot of children have no idea how much it costs of certain things. And, you will be surprised to what they do know though. Natalie Olivery went along to find out. Have a look. Okay, well should kids be paying more attention to the real cost of goods so they’ll be prepared for life after they live home? Sharon Witt joins me. Good Morning Sharon! Sharon Witt: Good morning Kerri-anne. This actually came out of a survey in the UK that said that over half of the teenagers who were actually surveyed thought that a loaf of bread costs more than, no, more than a pound a loaf. Kerri-Anne Show: Love One Child More

Love One Child More KERRI-ANNE: Great to have you back. Well, parents have denied it for years, but there’s a new book out claiming that 95% of parents do in fact have a favorite child. According to the author, middle children are least likely to be the parents’ favorite, unless it’s family’s only son or daughter. Apparently, the mothers always favor the eldest son and the fathers favor the youngest daughter. Joining me this morning are author, teacher, mother, Sharon Witt, as well as mother to be Emily Everwin. Ladies, good morning. SHARON WITT: Good morning. KERRI-ANNE: Okay, as daughters, what do you think? EMILY: I do have a joke with my dad, the other boys’ birthday cards “love your favorite daughter”, but I’m the only daughter so I can get away with it. But I think this is an age-old thing, I think this has been going on for…

Kerri-Anne Show: Have Teachers Lost Control

Have Teachers Lost Control KERRI-ANNE: When it comes to disciplining their pupils, it seems that teacher’s hands are absolutely tired these days and it’s the kids that are ruling the ruse. Recently, a 12 year old girl who was caught wagging school claim that she was attacked by her teacher even though she was the first one who threw an egg on him. Take a look at this. Well, now children of course have to be protected, there are definitely cases when teachers have abused the trust put in them. But of course, there are a lot of cases out there of pupils wrecking teachers’ careers upon making accusations that very often just prove absolutely false and untrue. If you got a view email us this morning, [email protected], but who’s protecting the teachers? This morning, parenting teacher and expert Sharon Witt joins me with 2UE commentator Jason Morrison, one and…
